Databricks Data Engineer
Lead / Senior Databricks Data Engineer
This is a defining role for an experienced data engineer who wants to bridge the gap between client problems and data solutions. As part of our data capability at Nimble, you’ll support our clients in solving their complex operational challenges, by building out performant data infrastructure that delivers real world impact.
You’ll be core to building our Databricks capability —shaping solutions with our clients and the delivery of these projects. We’re looking for an experienced engineer who knows how to build production-ready data platforms and pipelines, with a focus on outcomes and stability. You’ll utilise your deep Databricks expertise to show how this leading platform can alleviate the pain of fragmented data sets and tooling landscapes, to achieve their strategic aims.
Your Impact
1. Solving Client Challenges
Shaping Problems & Projects: Work with our sales and engineering capabilities to understand client problems and shape appropriate solutions, determining the right team to implement these and leading this delivery.
Technical Leadership: Support our clients with their technical decision making, using your experience to help guide them through the plethora of options to find what brings them the most value.
Identify Opportunity: Use your engineering and data platform experience to help clients identify additional pain points, and how they can be solved.
Client Delivery Excellence: You’ll draw on your experience and expertise to deliver the solutions you’ve helped to create, working closely with client and Nimble teams to implement Databricks outcomes for clients.
2. Technical Excellence & Collaboration
Technical Vision: Use your understanding of engineering practices, to develop robust, pragmatic solutions. You know when to build, when to buy, and how to advocate for the right choice.
Set the Standard: Help maintain our internal view of "what good looks like", using your data engineering experience, and support the capability to ensure we consistently hit it.
Empower Others: Mentor other consultants, lifting them up and giving them the confidence to drive technical initiatives.
What You Bring
Databricks Expertise: You have significant hands-on experience with Databricks, delivering multiple platform implementations, backed by certifications (Databricks Data Engineer Associate minimum).
Data Engineering Best Practices: You have a strong grasp of data engineering standards (data structures, databases, data manipulation, ETL, data quality and data ingestion / storage patterns), and are able to implement them effectively as part of wider solutions.
Solution Orientated: You understand client pain points and how they can be alleviated with Databricks, building solutions to fit this need.
Collaborative Mindset: You enjoy working as part of a team, and can support others in their development.
Consulting Skillset: You have strong stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills to support effective delivery of your projects.
